 WISDOM & SELF-GROWTH
For example, with a living person you might say,“ It was nice to meet you and maybe I’ ll see you the next time I am here.” You would likely not tell them they are welcome to come into your home any time they need something … however, this is something that folks who begin practicing spirit communication will do!
While we can offer simple acts of kindness to spirits we encounter who may appreciate, for example, an occasional offering of food or drink, a song, prayer, or simply kind conversation, it’ s often unnecessary to go beyond that.
If you ever connect with a spirit that leaves you feeling like they need something from you and you alone, ask yourself if that really makes sense and is reasonable. Just like with the living, untrustworthy spirits will test our boundaries a little bit at a time, pushing them further and further, until they either become a gigantic pain in the butt or something more concerning.
If you are one of the many curious seekers who will be chatting with the nonliving this spooky season, remember that it is good and healthy to listen to your gut, know your limits, and focus your friendly conversations on those who are respectful.
Remember that establishing and maintaining those boundaries is an ever-evolving process as we grow and learn. Enjoy the ride!
