n a relationship with someone emotionally unavailable — if you haven’t cut your losses
early — you might have a tendency to want to help, fix, protect, or rescue. As natural as it is
to want to do this with someone we care about, someone we perceive as stuck or struggling,
it works only in Hollywood movies. In real life, it makes things worse because it doesn’t work
— period. Furthermore, one truth you should embrace is that not everyone wants to change,
and that’s okay. Just as it is okay for you to make the decision about whether you want to
