write it on a slip of paper and put it in
the jar. Then on New Year’s Eve,
empty the jar and review everything
you wrote. The gratitude jar itself will
become a constant reminder to pause
and be appreciative.
D
eep, slow, intentional breathing will
draw more oxygen into your body and
open you to gratitude. While inhaling,
breathe in love to yourself; when
exhaling, breathe love out to others.
Do this until your breath is rhythmic,
and you feel calm and centered. Then,
for at least a minute, let your energies
expand outward in gratitude for
yourself or someone else.
Affirmations can be helpful in
developing a practice of gratitude.
This one by the poet e. e. cummings
reminds us to affirm ourselves and life
in this way: “I thank you God for this
most amazing day: for the leaping
greenly spirits of trees and a blue true
dream of sky: and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which
is yes.”
Begin
each day in gratitude with
your partner, aware that there are
challenges ahead but trusting that
you will not be given more than you
can handle. Visualize an image of
the best your lives have ever been,
and set an intention to make them
even better no matter what has
happened in your past.
Walk in a state of gratitude with your
partner. Remember to talk about your
best
times
together.
Identify
experiences that made those times

particularly fulfilling for each of you,
and the elements that characterized
them. Then integrate these elements
when co-creating new experiences.
As a love ambassador, you can live in
a constant stream of gratitude. You can
wake up every morning with a sense of
appreciation and a healthy anticipation
for what the universe has in store for you.
Before your feet even touch the floor, you
can open your heart and give thanks for the
day in front of you. You can trust that no
matter what happens that day, it will be a
good day. You accept life as it comes, trust
that you are getting exactly what you need
to spiritually grow at any given moment, and
speak gratefully throughout the day about
even the simplest things.
Opening your heart in gratitude brings us into
grace. Through this opening, we experience
an uninhibited flow of love energy. Living in
this flow of love is grace in motion.
