For some, physical attractiveness and the ability to get what we want can feel powerful.
Achieving our goals and having success in areas that are important to us may lend us the temporary feeling of power. While this might provide us with a sense of pride and accomplishment, we may still go about our day feeling powerless and compromising ourselves in a variety of ways. We may stay in relationships, occupations and abusive situations because we believe it offers us security and we fear we lack the power to create change.
Over committing to activities, responsibilities and others to garner attention and control, may leave us a hollow sense of power and authority.
When our personal power is concerned with external goals and values that are not aligned with our spirit, we eventually become exhausted and soul sick.
For many it may seem unrealistic and silly to trust that there is a higher form of spiritual power that can provide for our everyday physical and material needs and highest good. We may believe that there is a separation between spirituality and the“ real” world.
