we are asked now to step in both for our ancestor’ s well-being and for our children and descendants.
The Six Calls
I have created a system of six calls to unpack the ways in which our ancestors may be calling out to us, and each call, be it shout or whisper, asks a different respond from us. Some of these calls are gifts or blessings; others are cries and pleas for help and healing.
They are:
1.“ I am still here, and you are not alone.” 2.“ Take these gifts, blessings, or apologies.” 3.“ Let me help, heal, or warn you.”
4.“ Please, please help and heal me; I am still suffering.”
5.“ Watch out: This old grudge has not yet been resolved.”
6.“ Carry on my name and gifts to your children and your children’ s children. Remember.”
The whispers and warmth of our ancestors may come through our dreams or waking lives in messages 1,2,3, and 6. Here, when they connect, they are letting us know that they are still with us, we are not alone, they wish to be remembered, and that they have gifts, blessings or advice to help us in our own lives.
Our parents, grandparents, aunties etc. may show up as themselves in a dream, or disguised as some other being, or as a sign or symbol on our waking life. For example,
