The planetary deities

The Sun – Apollo. He represents clear vision, mastery, control, and logical thought over emotion. The Sun represents your conscious mind, your mode of selfexpression, your spiritual and temporal understanding, and self-empowerment. It also rules your creative impulses and how you express these, and it shows the areas in which you shine.
The Moon – Artemis / Diana, Apollo’ s twin sister. She represents independence, mystery, reflection, self-containment, privacy, self-containment, and an affinity for wild places and nature. The Moon rules the unconscious mind, your emotions, memory, intuition and instinct.
Mercury – Hermes / Mercury. He is the messenger of the gods, and is known as the trickster because of his innate sense of mischief. He represents communication and connection. The planet Mercury shows us how you think, communicate, and gather and use information.
Venus – Aphrodite / Venus. Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty, harmony, pleasure, and transformation. The planet Venus reveals how you relate to others, and how you experience and show your feelings.
Mars – Ares / Mars. Ares is the warrior, the dancer, the passionate lover, and the wild card who is forceful, impetuous and is driven by his emotions. The planet Mars indicates how you use your energy and drive, and the mode of action and initiative you use to pursue your desires.
Jupiter – Zeus / Jupiter. Zeus represents the wise leader of the gods. He engenders respect through his ability to listen, mediate, and make far-reaching decisions. The planet Jupiter governs the ways in which you can grow. Jupiter also indicates any desire to expand your mind through higher education and / or spiritual pursuits.
Saturn – Kronos / Saturn. Kronos is the god of time, and represents boundaries and responsibilities. The planet Saturn governs self-control, self-discipline, patience, restriction, and ambition.
