Nourishment calms the system. Deprivation disrupts it.
It’ s human nature that when you’ re told you can’ t have something, you focus on exactly that and it makes you want it even more.
But when you focus on nourishing yourself by eating more vegetables, protein, and fiber, you’ ll naturally feel fuller and more satisfied. Your body will get what it needs to be healthy and thrive. Your blood sugar will stabilize. And your cravings will go down, without feeling deprived or hungry.
When you eat a satisfying dinner, you’ ll have less desire for snacks late at night. When you drink more water and keep yourself hydrated, you’ ll naturally have less thirst or cravings for soft drinks. When you add in gentle body movement that feels good, you’ ll no longer have the need to stress-eat.
2. Diets Are Stressful and Overwhelming.
Most diets require a complete overhaul of your life. New foods, new exercise regimens, new shopping lists, new rules, new restrictions. They come with long lists of things you’ re not allowed to eat and things you can’ t have.
You’ re who day revolves around food.
What to buy. What to prepare. What to avoid. What you’ re doing wrong.
For women already juggling a huge to-do list: working, kids, caring for aging parents, relationships, stress, and everything you’ re responsible for day-to-day, the mental load is too much. And when something takes that much time, energy, and brain space, it’ s exhausting. You can push through for a few weeks, or maybe even a couple of months. But eventually you end up right back at square one.
