because we’ re still operating from our old, limited self and not what we refer to as your R. E. A. L. ™ Self. This acronym stands for“ Real Empowerment Allows Love” ™.
When you remember and reclaim your relationship with your R. E. A. L. ™ Self, you begin operating from your higher self which is love and learn to release the fears, doubts, and old patterns that keep you from taking aligned steps towards your next soul-aligned chapter.
Reinvention, especially in midlife, invites and requires us to be honest with ourselves about our desires. It asks us to review old patterns we keep repeating and to realign our vision with our highest truth. This season of life is not about starting over from scratch; it is about integrating the wisdom you have earned and consciously choosing what comes next.
Just as importantly, I continue to practice these tools myself through each of my own reinventions. Midlife reinvention is not something we“ arrive at”; it is a living, breathing relationship with ourselves.
You may be familiar with Stephen Covey’ s quote,“ Begin with the end in mind.” This is a powerful place to start when recreating life on your own terms, in a co-creative partnership with what I lovingly call your Divine Fan Club: your intuition, higher self, angels, guides, and inner wisdom. When you clarify where you are headed, you begin making choices that align with who you are becoming, rather than who you used to be.
Midlife reinvention is often prompted by a life transition. It may be a jarring experience such as the loss of a loved one, a divorce, or an unexpected career change.
Or it may be a planned transition: retirement, empty nesting, relocation, or stepping into the role of grandmother.
WISDOM & SELF-GROWTH
I became a voracious learner of personal development practices in my early twenties, a journey that has continued for decades. I have refined, taught, and embodied these tools throughout my 31 years as an educator and school counselor in the public school system, and later as a certified women’ s empowerment coach and Midlife Reinvention Guide.
