Those questions make sense. We want clarity. We want relief. We want to feel grounded again.
But in my experience, when life feels overwhelming or uncertain, the answer usually doesn’ t come from thinking harder. It comes from shifting how we meet the moment we’ re in.
There’ s one question I return to again and again.
I realized something important:
Even when you don’ t have control over what’ s happening, you do have choice over how you show up inside of it.
You may not get to decide the timing. Or the outcome. Or the direction something takes. But you do get to choose how you meet the moment.

And it brings me back to myself faster than almost anything else.

I first heard this question when I was young, long before I really understood what it meant. At the time, it didn’ t land in any deep way. But years later, as I moved through my own seasons of challenge, loss, and transformation, it came back to me— and this time, I understood it differently.
That realization is grounding— and empowering.
It reminds us that even in times of uncertainty, we’ re not powerless. We still have presence. We still have agency.
That’ s why I now invite other women to explore this question whenever life feels heavy, confusing, or emotionally charged.
