The Feminine Art of Living in Rhythm

BY SHARIE HOHN

There comes a point on the journey of self-discovery when we can see our patterns clearly. We recognize the over giving, the self-doubt, the ways we override our body and the habits that once protected us but now quietly exhaust us. Awareness is powerful and our first doorway home.

Many women I work with are incredibly insightful and aware. They’ ve read the books, done the talk therapy, and studied the mindset work. They can articulate exactly why they react the way they do and yet, in the moment of stress, their body still tightens, their voice still goes silent, and their nervous system still defaults to survival.
This has nothing to do with failing. It’ s because insight and awareness happen in the mind and embodiment happens in the body. The body doesn’ t change because it understands, it changes because it feels safe enough to choose differently. You can understand your patterns and still repeat them. You can know your triggers and still react. You can intellectually grasp your worth and still struggle to embody it.
Awareness without embodiment becomes another performance.
Another way to look evolved while still abandoning ourselves in the moment.
